François Delandre

Photo de François DelandreYes, because the black and white transforms our vision, leading us beyond the offered reality. Thinking in black & white obliges one to ponder on the composition, on the lines of strength, on the contrasts.

Thus I am the photographic eye and the composer of space – the graphist.

For me being a photographer is like being displaced. Armed with my camera I can sketch the visual and try to maintain the balance of the construction that I have before me.

It is instantaneous. Nothing is foreseen or decided. It’s a pure moment ripped from time, space, light.

Like an eaux-fortes engraving it is the chemicals that reveal the chosen moment – revealing the unique and the essential.
